Atlanta Photo Adventures are for visitors to the city and residents who want to explore their own backyard and learn some creative photo techniques along the way.

PHOTOGRAPHY 101- group class

Learn to use your digital SLR camera, in this fun and informative one day seminar. Bring your camera, media card, fresh battery and your manual. Limited to 10 students.
Topics include:
* basic camera controls - aperture, shutter, exposure control & white balance
* accessories and memory cards
* image resolution, file formats, file storage
* printing options and printers
* basic photo compositions, tips & techniques for great photos
* Intro to Photoshop and basic image enhancement

PHOTOGRAPHY 102- group class

This intermediate photography class for digital photographers will teach you more advanced visual and technical skills with your camera. Limited to 10 students.

Topics will include:

• advanced composition and lens choices
• low-light and night photography
• shooting "raw"
• basic image workflow, raw conversion,
• basic image editing using Photoshop

Flash Photography - using a camera flash

This one-day workshop will provide hands-on practical information and practice in the use of your electronic camera flash (not the flash built-in to the camera - this class is for accessory flash units).  Learn techniques for using your flash, including fill flash, bounce flash, indoor and outdoor use and more.

Learn how to control the light, shadows, and contrast. Additional techniques for using attachments that will improve the light.   

Bring your camera and flash (and manuals if you have them) to class.

Learn from a working professional photographer & other business professionals, specific business practices necessary for the photography industry; what contracts and forms are essential, how to charge for your work, basics of running a small business, marketing and advertising techniques, insurance, copyright and much more. Studio Lighting 101- 1 day studio lighting workshop

Learn the fundamentals of photographic lighting (strobe/studio flash). Discover how to manipulate the quality of light using such studio tools as umbrellas, soft boxes, grids, snoots, etc, and use of hand-held light meters. Can be applied to studio or location photography projects.
Gain hands-on experience in working with studio lighting for people and still-life/products and more!

Oakland Cemetery - Night Shoot
Spring 2010 - this is a very popular field trip and sell out quickly

Historic Oakland Cemetery - Night Shoot - this once a year opportunity to photograph at night in the historic cemetery. Light painting with flash and flashlights will be demonstrated. Limited to 50 students. 50% of the proceeds are donated to the Historic Oakland Foundation.
